We have a fantastic new opportunity for a creative and energetic Operations Manager to help us grow and develop our portfolio of managed pubs by leading our teams to continued success. The role covers a wide area including Bedford, Cambridge and the East Midlands so you must live close to patch or within reasonable daily commutable distance.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will need to be people orientated and have a passion for truly motivating, inspiring, and leading your teams. With particular focus on driving revenue, guest satisfaction and service delivery, your overall accountability will be for driving the brand strategy in all elements of the business, setting us apart from the competition as both a preferred employer and a destination to eat & drink!

Through ongoing critiquing of financial KPI's, you will be expected to take ownership for the profitability of all sites and with the support of our marketing team prompting actions to maximise sales growth wherever possible. You will be a natural leader with a proven track record in the hospitality industry, possessing strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest service. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at problem-solving, and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have had exposure in overseeing multiple sites within hospitality - essential
  • Have a proven background in managing and leading a diverse team, including recruitment, training and performance management
  • Possess exceptional commercial acumen – be constantly aware of current industry trends and competitors, and how to take advantage across multi revenue streams
  • Be able to demonstrate previous success in enhancing and driving guest satisfaction through service standards strategy & delivery
  • Be obsessed with financial performance and cost control measures to maximise profitability
  • Ensure all sites operate lawfully, safely and responsibly by ensuring comprehensive staff training and accountability on alcohol laws, H&S regulations and food safety
  • Have a creative and entrepreneurial flair and an appetite for success in driving a business forward
  • Be able to display outstanding leadership skills, emphasising a hands-on managerial presence to foster a positive work environment
  • Possess high attention to detail and exceptional organisational ability
  • Be ambitious and have a proactive approach to their career
  • Live within practical proximity (50 miles) of Bedford, our home!
