A well-established retail business in Southampton is seeking a Pastry Chef for a permanent position with a 38-hour contract. The role involves day shifts only, with a salary of circa £27,000 to £29,500 plus benefits.
The award-winning multi-purpose retail outlet features several venues across the South of England, each with a large, high-volume on-site restaurant. These restaurants provide breakfast and lunch dining, operating between the core hours of 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday and between 10:00am and 4:00pm on Sundays. The venue offers a full breakfast service until 11:30am, followed by an array of hot food served counter-style, including fresh pizzas, home-cooked pies, and an on-site carvery.
You will oversee the counter service, predominantly the patisserie counter. A strong pastry background is therefore a requirement for this position. This role benefits from sociable hours with no split shifts.
Key responsibilities will include ensuring the highest standard of customer service is always delivered. You must be a team player and support the rest of the kitchen team during busy service.
