This is a great opportunity to work for a market leading 5 a-side football brand at their flagship venue in Tolworth, Surrey. This centre is one of the largest sites in the portfolio and is currently undergoing some significant investments including the installation of a full size 3G pitch, and the addition of 4 covered state of the art Padel courts. Tolworth is the first site in the group to get this type of investment and added sports offering.
You will be responsible for a turnover in excess of £1.5m across pitch bookings, private hire, functions, events and children’s parties. This is a hands‑on role where you will be regularly required to be out the front to lead the team, engage with customers and ensure the facility is running to its optimum occupancy. You will be supported by a Deputy General Manager, an assistant manager, and a shift supervisor to cover the 7 days a week opening hours. You will also have a small team of full and part‑time front‑line staff as direct reports as well as multiple freelance referees and coaches.
To be successful you will need to be hands‑on, highly organised and someone who will enjoy working in a busy leisure destination. You will be responsible for:
- Being passionate about sports and especially grassroots football
- Delivering a great customer experience, meeting sales targets, managing day to day operations including the bar and uploading content to social media.
- Working across many different communities and age groups, sports development and football community partners as well as hosting countless kids’ parties.
- Recruiting, supporting and developing your team, organising recruitment events and being responsible for the rota.
You will need to be a confident communicator, have presence and an outgoing personality, and have a good all‑round knowledge of IT and booking systems.
As General Manager you will be working a combination of early and late shifts; these will typically be between 9am and 11pm and you will be required to work a minimum of 1 weekend in 3.
In addition to basic salary up to £40k, there is a potential bonus OTE of £8,500 that is paid out quarterly.
