Deputy Fitness Centre Manager - Sales & Member Experience £37,277 + 41 days holidays + University Pension Scheme

We're looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Deputy Fitness Centre Manager to help lead the member experience across a well-established and very popular University Fitness Centre with 2500 + student and academic staff members based near Euston station in London. You will be tasked with selling across the range of annual , 6 month and 3-month memberships for a gym that has 80 pieces of equipment that were replaced last year along with 2 studios offering 30+ classes per week and 2 squash courts. This is a hands-on role focused on sales, customer experience, retention, marketing and front-of-house operations.

Working as part of the centre management team, you will:

• Lead, motivate and develop the front-of-house and student staff teams.
• Drive membership sales, retention, engagement and ancillary income.
• Oversee the Legend gym management system, membership data and KPIs
• Own and improve the member journey, both digitally and in person.
• Plan and deliver creative sales, marketing and member communication campaigns.
• Use customer feedback, data and market insight to improve our services.
• Manage rotas, shifts and day-to-day front-of-house operations.
• Support the Fitness Centre Manager with operational, financial and performance management.
• Work collaboratively across our gym sites and with internal and external partners.
• Act as a visible, hands-on leader, regularly undertaking duty management shifts.

Interested candidates will need management experience working in sales or front of house in the fitness industry with:

• A flair for sales and possess a strong understanding of using the Membership CRM system ideally Legend or Gladstone.
• Confident using data and digital systems, and passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will work a combination of shifts including early, late and weekend shifts. This will include 2 duty management shifts, the early shift would start at 6.45am and the late shift finishes at 10.45 during the week, and at weekends it will be 8.45am and 9.15pm respectively. You would be required to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month and there is the potential for one day of hybrid working.
