This is an exciting opportunity for a warm, organised and commercially aware hospitality professional to take a central role in the day-to-day life of one of London’s leading private members tennis and sports clubs. Reporting to the General Manager, the Hospitality and Member Engagement Manager will oversee the Club’s hospitality operation while helping to create a welcoming, vibrant and well-managed environment for members and guests. The role combines hospitality leadership, food and beverage service oversight, member engagement, event coordination and committee liaison. The successful candidate will act as a visible host within the Club, building strong relationships, improving the member experience and supporting the Club’s ambition to become one of London’s premier private members tennis & sports clubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Club bar, hospitality areas and member-facing service standards.
- Manage the relationship with the outsourced kitchen caterers to ensure members have an attractive menu, offering quality and value.
- Build strong relationships with members, acting as a welcoming host and encouraging greater use of Club facilities.
- Coordinate member events, social activities and tennis-related hospitality in partnership with internal teams and external providers.
- Lead, support and supervise hospitality/bar staff, including rota planning, training, service standards and duty management.
- Work closely with the General Manager, Social Committee, Finance Committee and Operations Committee on events, resourcing, budgets and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, hygiene, operational records and Club policies.
- Deputise for the General Manager in their absence.
Ideal Candidate
- Friendly, professional and genuinely member-focused, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience in hospitality, club, leisure, events or food and beverage operations.
- Confident building relationships with members, committees, staff, suppliers and external service providers.
- Well organised, hands-on and able to manage busy periods, particularly during peak Club activity.
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of staffing, stock control, budgets and service performance.
- Flexible to work a mixture of shifts including some evenings and weekends particularly if events are on.
- Ideally have an interest in racquets/sports.
