We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the safe operation, inspection, maintenance and reliability of all adventures, equipment, PPE and site facilities at a leading adventure tourism site in Aberdare, South Wales. This is a vital and high-profile hands-on role within the site management team, ensuring the venue is safe, compliant, well maintained and ready to deliver an exceptional customer experience every day across multiple experiences. You will be working closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager and will be supported by a maintenance technician.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure all adventures, structures, equipment and PPE are safe, compliant and operational.
- Management of inspection regime of all activity structures and equipment.
- Manage and deliver preventative maintenance programmes.
- Ensure all maintenance, inspection and safety records are completed accurately.
- Manage contractors, third-party inspectors and specialist suppliers.
- Maintain the site to a high standard of safety, presentation and serviceability.
- Manage maintenance budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
- Support risk assessments, safe systems of work and statutory compliance.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and maintenance issues to minimise operational disruption.
- Lead, develop and coach the maintenance team.
- Work closely with the wider site management team to drive continuous improvement.
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Proven maintenance, engineering, technical or facilities management experience.
- Experience of and are comfortable working at heights.
- Experience leading and working with contractors and managing an in-house team.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance knowledge.
- Experience of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
- A strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A proactive, practical and positive 'can do' attitude.
- Maintenance Management experience within adventure, leisure, attractions, outdoor activities or another safety-critical environment would be advantageous.
In addition to a basic salary of £45K, there is the potential to earn a bonus of up to 10% of basic salary. Holiday entitlement is 25 days. You will be working 5 days out of 7 on a 40-hour contract. You will typically be working a combination of shifts and up to 3 weekends out of 4.
