We are recruiting for an operations manager to work at a well-established and successful adventure park based in Esher that generates a turnover of £2m per annum. The park has a wide variety of activities including trampolines, a climbing wall, slides, soft play and a café, hosting families and delivering a large number of parties and themed events throughout the year.

We are looking for an inspirational leader and coach who will thrive leading, coaching and developing what is typically a large but relatively young team of staff, many working part-time in a fast-paced and fun environment which at peak times is exceptionally busy with hundreds of parents and children coming through the doors every hour. The ideal candidate would have 2 years management experience working in a fast-paced leisure, hospitality or retail operation, have a positive and proactive approach and have a strong understanding of how to deliver operational excellence and health and safety compliance in leading and supporting a large team of up to 25 staff working on a busy shift.

You will be working a combination of shifts including 1 in 2 weekends, but your working hours will typically be between 9am and 8pm, which is much more favourable than the typical leisure or hospitality operation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all operational aspects of the venue, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations and exceptional guest experiences.
  • The ongoing attraction, recruiting, coaching and training of your team with extensive coaching and group training sessions.
  • Day to day management of the venue when on shift with a key focus on health and safety and delivering the brand standards.
  • Responsible for driving income across the key secondary revenue lines - parties, F and B and retail spend.
  • Working across all of the departments when required, front of house, café, on the floor and ordering stock/consumables.
  • Responsible for dynamic rota management of team members based on footfall, ensuring labour percentages are achieved.
  • Develop and execute local sales and marketing plans, including the management of social media.
  • Manage and record all incidents and any accidents that may occur whilst on shift.

You will be customer facing and highly visible within the role requiring first class interpersonal and communication skills.

We are looking to offer the successful candidate a basic salary of £31.2K. Benefits include a health cash plan, 40% off F and B, free parking on site and friends and family discounts. There are significant opportunities for career development as the company is already a market leader in their sector and continuing to grow rapidly through acquisition. Interviews are immediately available.
