As our regional Management Accountant you will work closely with the Finance Director and senior team members to guide and mentor the team, ensuring high‑quality monthly management accounts. You will take ownership of key financial and non‑financial reporting, including KPIs, cash‑flow forecasts, variance analysis and WIP reporting. You will contribute to business planning, support month‑end and ad‑hoc reporting, and play a key role in high‑profile projects. You will also be involved in audit responses, board reporting and adapting to evolving reporting requirements. This is a hybrid role – you will be required to attend the Preston and/or Edinburgh office 1‑2 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor the finance team to deliver accurate management accounts
- Own key reporting: KPIs, cash‑flow forecasts, variance analysis, WIP reporting
- Support month‑end, ad‑hoc and business‑planning activities
- Contribute to high‑profile projects, audit responses, board reporting and adapting to evolving reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Fully qualified or passed finalist with a CCAB‑recognised body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA), or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, LOOKUPs, complex formulas) and ability to demonstrate practical, flexible problem‑solving using IT tools
- Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities independently under pressure, with examples of meeting tight deadlines while maintaining quality and working month‑end deadlines
- Experience in management accounts within a complex organisation, knowledge of Development or Construction, familiarity with COINS, and strong communication skills
- Ability to build effective relationships across Developments and the wider Group
