Tom Dean Swim School (Subsidiary of Leisure Focus) is looking for talented swimming teachers, who not only have good technical abilities but a true love of teaching. If you have a passion for developing swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water for our swim school customers, then this role is for you. Come and join our team to lead safe, effective, meaningful and interesting lessons for adults and children of varying ages and abilities, including those with additional needs where relevant. Our Level 2 Swimming Instructors are critical to our community, providing an essential life saving skill to all those who participate.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Have a passion for aquatics and helping young people to be the best they can be.
- Thrive on supporting their students to achieve their swimming potential, drawing on their knowledge and experience of industry best practice, progression levels, and teaching skills that they apply in the most effective way.
- Have a working knowledge of aquatic health and safety, as well as an understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Be approachable, friendly and patient, with a firm ability to build trust, encourage and motivate your pupils.
- Ensure the successful delivery of the trusts swim school in line with company policy and the Swim England NPTS.
- Teach customers of varying age and ability as per the Swim England NPTS and complete all necessary reports.
- Ensure teaching, customer care and health and safety standards are maintained in line with company policy.
- Maximise the retention of swim school participants through quality standards, motivation and customer care.
- Ensure strong communication links between yourself, the swim school coordinator, reception and duty management.
- Be passionate about delivering TDSS' 23 bespoke challenges to stretch our students.
- Deal with customer enquiries, feedback and concerns.

- Our Level 2 Swimming Instructors love being part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a Swim England Level 2 or STA Full Swimming Instructor Qualifications (or the equivalent international qualification).
- Have experience of swimming teaching.
- Have or have held a recognised pool rescue award (preferable). Or be able to obtain it within a set period if not held.
DBS:
Level 2 Swimming Instructor positions are classed as a regulated post and therefore will require a DBS Disclosure. It will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
