Overview: Senior Accounts Payable – Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office). Permanent | Full Time. Competitive salary + bonus and benefits.

Haven is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Senior to join our Finance Operations team at our Hemel Hempstead head office. You will play a key role in the smooth running of the AP function – ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time, supplier accounts are well‑maintained, and any issues are resolved promptly. You’ll also provide vital cover and support for the Team Leader when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices in accordance with company policy
  • Reconcile supplier accounts proactively, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Support and provide cover for the Accounts Payable Team Leader as required
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, addressing queries and issues effectively
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls and procurement policy
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Procurement, site admin and other departments to resolve AP matters
  • Support the training and development of team members on new processes and systems, including ERPx
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the accounts payable function

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an accounts payable or finance operations role
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, debits, credits and financial statements
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. Coupa, SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and payment regulations (e.g. Prompt Payment Code)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a high‑volume workload
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with suppliers and colleagues across the business
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and resolving invoice or payment discrepancies
  • Experience of supporting or mentoring colleagues in a team environment (desirable)
