It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. This is an exciting opportunity to be part the school age Athletics Programme which is delivered in the Regional Performance Centre. We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and dynamic casual coaches to lead sessions which engage children. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure & Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £11.96 per hour.RequirementsYou will hold an Athletics Level 2 (UKA Athletics Coach qualification)ResponsibilitiesAs a Sports Coach you will lead in the teaching/coaching of a variety of client groups of varying ability. You will lead the delivery of a progressive and developmental programme, maintaining and updating participant records, checking all teaching equipment and ensuring that a safe and comfortable environment is provided at all times.The IndividualYou are required to have experience in Athletics coaching. Experience working with children from a variety of backgrounds. Experience of planning structured activity sessions. You must have excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to work in a team. You must also have the ability to work independently and be strongly self motivated and have the ability to communicate effectively with children and young people; You must have strong interpersonal skills, be flexible and adaptable and have strong leadership skills. You must have the ability to motivate and enthuse others and be willing to work flexible hours including weekend work and be willing to undertake personal development. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
