Farnham (hybrid working available)

Full time | £25,750 – £30,000

At Leightons, we believe the experience people have at work really matters. How someone joins, how they’re supported day to day, and how they feel as part of the team all make a difference. We’re looking for someone to join our People team who can help us get those moments right.

This role sits at the heart of the employee journey - particularly when someone is joining the business. You’ll be the person who helps make that first experience smooth, welcoming and well organised, making sure new starters feel informed and looked after from day one (and before). Alongside that, you’ll support with the day-to-day running of HR, helping to keep things accurate, compliant and running as they should.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Being the main point of contact for new starters, from offer through to their first day
  • Making sure onboarding is well organised, with everything in place ahead of time
  • Working closely with managers, recruitment and other teams to keep things moving
  • Handling HR admin across the employee lifecycle — contracts, letters and changes
  • Completing pre-employment checks (references, right to work, DBS, etc.)
  • Keeping employee records up to date on the HR system
  • Responding to general HR queries, or passing things on where needed
  • Supporting with probation reviews, leavers and family leave processes
  • Getting involved in wider People team activity — whether that’s welcome days, interviews or internal projects

What we’re looking for:

This role would suit someone who is naturally organised, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in getting the detail right. You’ll likely:

  • Be comfortable managing multiple tasks at once
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Take a proactive approach and be happy to get stuck in
  • Be someone people feel comfortable coming to for help
  • Handle sensitive information with care

You don’t need extensive HR experience — strong administration experience is more important. If you’ve worked in HR before, that’s a plus, but not essential.

Why Leightons?

Our approach is simple — we aim to Listen, Empathise, Educate and Delight. That applies just as much to our colleagues as it does to our patients. We want people to feel supported, to understand what’s expected of them, and to enjoy being part of the business. This role plays a big part in making that happen.

You’ll be joining a team that works closely together, looks to improve things where we can, and takes pride in doing things properly. If you’re looking for a role where you can build on your experience, get closer to HR, and make a genuine impact on people’s experience at work, we’d love to hear from you.

We are committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment and creating a workplace culture in which diversity and inclusion is valued and everyone is treated with dignity and respect. As part of our zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in any form, you and any job applicants will receive equal treatment regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation (Protected Characteristics).
