Job Description
One of the UK's best-known law firms is looking for a Pitching Manager to work with some of the best minds in the industry across all legal and operational departments, to turbo charge pitching capability and make a significant contribution to the firm's continued success.
This firm requires someone who can hit the ground running and help improve the pitching approach and systems, to deliver more pitches, and be more proactive in their approach to larger clients, and improve the quality of the outputs and ultimately bring in more new business. This is a new role so a good opportunity to help shape the approach and build this critical capability.
The Department
You would be part of the marketing and sales team, within the central business development function. The business development team delivers key services, including Intermediary Development, Client Acquisition and Development, Insights, Events, Comms and PR, Digital Marketing, Brand and Sales.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the pitching process to help streamline operations and increase efficiency, resulting in cross-departmental learning and insights.
- Optimise resource allocation, ensuring the right people get involved at the right time.
- Improve pitch response quality, ultimately helping to convert more opportunities.
- Work with central resources to improve data governance, pitch tools, processes and systems.
- Develop deep expertise in pitching techniques, best practice, and client needs.
- Coordinate pitching across practice areas.
- Build internal relationships, enabling more consistent communication and best practice; make sure the brand comes through clearly.
- Proactively scan for opportunities, including upcoming panel renewals for defined targets of the firm's departments.
- Play an active role in meeting new business targets and helping the firm win more business.

- Delivering pitches within complex organisations, working with multiple stakeholders, building trust and good relationships.
- Standardising pitches and associated processes.
- Ambitious to deliver world-class outputs and able to drive others to improve.
- A proactive person who sees opportunity in the role and wants to grow.
- Strategic ability to think ahead and spot opportunities for proactive approaches.
- Highly conscientious and organised; able to work independently, as well as in a team.
