An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development professional to join a premium, international law firm, recognised as one of the most innovative in Europe, to provide support to the firm’s thriving Financial Services sector. This role sits within the central Business Development function, which works closely with the firm’s expert partners and lawyers to drive profitable revenue growth from existing and new clients, while developing and delivering a clear and compelling brand proposition. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager for the Financial Services sector, the role will promote best-practice advice and tactics across the firm and foster a consultative, client-focused approach to business development and marketing activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering targeted marketing and business development support to enhance the firm’s reputation with financial institutions globally. Working closely with sector leaders and client relationship managers, you will identify, shape and deliver strategic growth opportunities, including the development and implementation of targeted business development plans for key Financial Services sub-sectors.
You will manage and grow relationships with major Financial Services clients, support cross-selling initiatives and long-term account development, and lead bid strategies for high-value and strategically important opportunities. The role will also champion thought leadership and sector expertise initiatives to enhance the firm’s market profile and brand visibility, while providing insightful market research, analysis and performance reporting to inform decision-making and future strategy.
The ideal candidate will be commercially focused with a proven track record of driving growth and managing high-value client relationships within international law firms or professional services environments. Highly adaptable and influential, with the ability to negotiate and engage confidently with senior stakeholders across all levels of an organisation, you will bring excellent communication, project management, and organisational skills, enabling the effective coordination of multiple priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings.
The Business Development Manager will also be known for their collaborative approach that unites cross-functional teams to deliver strategic objectives. Experience or exposure to the financial services sector will be advantageous, complemented by strong curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn.
