Barbering Teacher at Activate Learning

Activate Learning is excited to invite a dedicated and experienced Barbering Teacher to join our team, where you will play a key role in delivering exceptional teaching and learning experiences to students pursuing the VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering. We are seeking a passionate professional with a blend of industry expertise and a genuine commitment to education. This position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of barbers by equipping students with both practical and theoretical skills necessary for success in the industry.

Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering lessons that cover the full scope of the barbering curriculum, as well as assessing student progress. You will provide essential support and guidance to ensure each student reaches their full potential and is well‑prepared for a career in barbering.

This is a casual contract working two and a half days per week, roughly 18.5 hours, on Mondays, Tuesdays with teaching until 19:00 and Wednesday mornings.

What do you need to be a successful Barbering Teacher at Activate Learning?

We are looking for a candidate who brings strong technical knowledge and can serve as a positive role model for our students. To excel in this role, candidates should possess up-to-date experience and knowledge of the hairdressing and barbering industries. Additionally, they should be committed to fostering the skills of future professionals. Specific qualifications and experience that will help you succeed include:

  • Significant, hands‑on experience as a professional barber is required.
  • Experience in delivering barbering education or training, particularly within a further education setting, is highly desirable.
  • It would be desirable to have a solid understanding of the Level 2 VTCT Diploma in Barbering curriculum and its assessment requirements.
