About the Role
Leigh Academy Mascalls is seeking a skilled and proactive Food and Catering Technician to join our team. This essential role ensures our teaching kitchens and equipment operate at a professional standard, providing the foundation for our students to succeed across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for KS3 introductory sessions to support the complex requirements of GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition and KS5 Food Science & Nutrition.
- Ensure every lesson is safe, organised, and inspiring, managing the procurement of fresh ingredients and maintaining an accurate inventory of stock.
- Maintain equipment ready for teacher demonstrations and student practicals, providing technical guidance to students.
- Ensure all activities meet CLEAPSS and Food Standards Agency guidelines, manage cleaning schedules, and monitor food storage to maintain a safe, professional workspace.
