Location: Hybrid, Whiteley, Hampshire

Security Clearance: This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC). Eligibility will be discussed during the recruitment process.

About the Role:

Leidos is looking for an experienced Training Specialist to support a high-profile Systems Integration programme. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and influence training solutions within a mission-critical environment, working closely with both UK and US-based teams as well as our customer stakeholders. This role combines instructional design expertise, stakeholder engagement, and consultancy. You'll play a key role in developing innovative learning solutions, helping to drive adoption, inspire change, and ensure training is delivered effectively within a highly regulated environment. We're looking for someone who can build trusted relationships, challenge existing approaches constructively, and bring fresh ideas to enhance learning experiences.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design, develop, and implement training solutions that meet evolving business and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand learning needs and recommend effective training approaches.
  • Develop and review courseware, learning materials, and supporting documentation.
  • Assess and incorporate customer and partner-provided training content into engaging learning solutions.
  • Utilise Learning Management Systems (LMS) to manage, maintain, and support training delivery.
  • Provide expert advice on instructional design methodologies, technologies, tools, and learning best practices.
  • Produce training plans, course outlines, and schedules to support programme delivery.
  • Ensure training materials remain accurate, up to date, and aligned to quality standards.
  • Support Training Design Reviews and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and oversee training activities and learning pathways across the programme.
  • Act as a key contributor to the governance and assurance of training deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness, learner engagement, and operational efficiency.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience designing and developing training solutions in a professional environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies such as DSAT, ADDIE, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Experience using and managing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to analyse complex information and translate it into clear, effective learning content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience producing and maintaining high-quality training documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and passion for delivering high-quality learning experiences.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within Defence, Government, Aviation, National Security, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience reviewing or adapting third-party training content.
  • Understanding of training governance, assurance, and quality management processes.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, technology, or systems integration programmes.
