We are in search of a Systems Engineer for our Leidos engineering capability. The successful Systems Engineer will have a full understanding of the principles of systems engineering and prior experience as a Systems Engineer involving integrating software products from suppliers.

Using your experience in Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for working with customers and suppliers to execute Systems Engineering activities across the full lifecycle, with a focus on the low level system design.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of sub-systems, ensuring all components function cohesively to meet specified requirements.
  • Liaise with stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to gather, analyse, and refine system requirements.
  • Support the definition and design of interfaces.
  • Create and maintain detailed system design documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and interface definitions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to determine optimal system design solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and network components.
  • Support the validation and verification of system designs.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and drive the implementation of best practices in design and integration.
  • Support project planning and estimation activities related to systems design and integration tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in system design within a relevant industry.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies, lifecycle management, and design principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with ArchiMate and TOGAF.
  • Background in cybersecurity and/or cloud systems.
  • Knowledge of secure by design guidelines.
  • Knowledge of JSP 465.

Location: Farnborough, UK (Hybrid working – on-site presence required as dictated by programme and customer engagement).

Pay Range: £47,600.00-£61,000.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
