Job Description

Responsible for the successful execution of code development for PLC(s) within our client base / organization. You must be able to work independently or as part of a team, managing your time efficiently to meet scheduled dates. The role may require periods away from the office/home during project implementation, standby and customer support, including working remotely both in the UK and worldwide. Some weekends and nights may be required to support customer projects with aggressive deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical develop PLC code from drawings or to a customer’s specification.
  • PLC software development.
  • Onsite commissioning and I/O testing / setup.
  • Compliance with functional safety and industry standards.
  • Effective time management: planning and achieving goals within required time frames, meeting pressurised deadlines, and adhering to company time and attendance procedures.
  • Monitoring and working to project budget deadlines.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English; strong communication and writing skills, including detailed communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing subcontract design resources to ensure quality of delivery.
  • Effective presentation of ideas and delivery of progress status reports.
  • Team working: liaison with project management, engineering, and installation teams as well as end users/customers on a technical level.
  • Cross‑functional working: continually building relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve project success.
  • Health & safety: follow and promote Group and Company policies and procedures, ensuring proper use of company equipment and personal PPE.
  • Equality: fully understand and always adhere to the Company’s Equality Policy.

Skills & Attributes

  • Rockwell RS Logix 5, 500 & 5000.
  • Rockwell Studio 5000.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project.
  • PowerPoint and Visio are preferable.
  • Knowledge of Power & Free Conveyor Systems.
  • Ignition SCADA.
  • Experience in 3D modelling.
  • Solid experience of Automation.
  • Previous experience in a similar working environment with a wide ranging technical background.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: aerospace, mechanical/material handling, conveyor systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, control systems, logistics.

Qualifications

  • Driving licence.
  • Any relevant engineering qualification.
  • Valid passport.

Pay Range

£47,600.00-£61,000.00.
