We are looking for a Comparative Test Engineer to join our team to help us deliver a large-scale systems integration programme at Leidos. As part of a multi‑discipline team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of test documentation and execution, as assigned by the Test Lead. The role involves interfacing with an international team and customer stakeholders to design, create and execute tests. It requires effective communication with technical personnel and programme leadership, execution of tests across software products and related interfaces, and identification and management of resulting defects.

Location: Whiteley, Hampshire (Hybrid)

Clearance Required: SC clearance

Pay Range: £36,900 – £46,100

Responsibilities:

  • Generate test cases by reviewing requirements and design documentation, liaising with SMEs.
  • Document test results, defects, and report progress.
  • Investigate issues and work with suppliers to identify root cause and resolution.
  • Analyze data, large datasets and test evidence from suppliers to demonstrate compliance with requirements.
  • Analyze interface messaging, comparing legacy data to new systems.
  • Identify improvements in new and existing processes.
  • Support the automation team to develop regression test packs.

Qualifications:

  • ISTQB/ISEB Foundation Certificate in software testing.
  • Ability to work in Whiteley.
  • Good understanding of the testing lifecycle and various types of testing (functional, non‑functional, integration).
  • Demonstrable systems integration experience, integrating third‑party systems or components.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, confident in technical and non‑technical discussions.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills – able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, troubleshooting attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience creating test cases based on requirements and design documents.
