We are looking for an Integration and Verification Test engineer to join our team to help us deliver a multi drop systems integration programme. As part of the integrated team, the successful candidate will design, create and execute system integration tests. This is an opportunity to work on an exciting programme delivering critical infrastructure key to the future of UK Air Traffic Management. Though experience with Air Traffic Management is not required, as on-the-job training will be provided, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate integration test experience, ideally within a complex, virtualised, cloud based infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviewing of requirements and design documents to generate Test Cases including identifying test data and defining test environment needs
- Creating and reviewing test plans and test designs, working with third party suppliers to ensure requirements coverage.
- Creating, reviewing and optimizing Testing Processes.
- Preparation and Execution of Test Cases to fully functionally test across the software, network and infrastructure solution stack at all levels
- Preparation and Execution of Test Cases to test the system and verify safety, security, resilience, service management and other non-functional requirements
- Producing Test Reports and report on interim progress
- Documenting of test results and any defects
- Reporting progress, risks & issues to Team Leads
- Investigating issues and working with suppliers to identify root cause and resolution
- Analysing data and test evidence from suppliers to show compliance to requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong test experience (including ISTQB Foundation Certificate in software testing), a period of which in systems and/or integration testing of IT solutions
- Demonstrable Testing experience with IT Systems and Services
- Excellent understanding of the Testing Lifecycle and the different types of testing such as Functional and Integration Testing
- Demonstrable Systems Integration experience including integrating 3rd party systems or multiple components
- Able to estimate and plan own immediate tasks and manage their completion
- Experience of creating Test Cases and scripts based on requirements and design documents
- Experience of both manual and automated testing and how to apply these to IT application and infrastructure solutions
- Good oral and written communication skills, confident in technical and non-technical discussions
- Good time management and organisational skills – ability to work with minimal supervision and direct others to do the same
- Enthusiastic, proactive, troubleshooting attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Working with large-scale and complex integration programmes
- Ability to analyse and review test evidence from 3rd party suppliers
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- Experience with virtualised products/services/solutions
- Experience of deriving test artefacts from Model Based designs
- Familiarity with agile software development processes and products (release and sprint planning, product backlog management/refinement, retrospectives, etc.) and SecDevOps
- DOORS, Atlassian toolset, TestRail, Robot Framework / Python experience or equivalent tools
- ATM knowledge would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite
Clearance Requirements:
Able to obtain or current UK SC Clearance is required for this position.
