Leidos is seeking a proactive and experienced Risk Manager to join the Programme Management Office (PMO) within a major, complex and multi‑disciplinary programme. This role will be responsible for managing risks across both internal workstreams and the joint risk register maintained collaboratively with our customer. The Risk Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that risks are identified early, assessed thoroughly, and managed effectively, enabling confident decision‑making and delivery assurance across the programme.
Location: This is a Hybrid role. Whiteley, Hampshire
Clearance Required: This role will require attainment and maintenance of SC clearance.
The Role:
- Manage a joint risk register with the customer, ensuring alignment of risk descriptions, assessments, owners, and mitigations.
- Lead the management of internal programme risks, ensuring consistency of approach across all workstreams.
- Work proactively with stakeholders at all levels to identify emerging risks and ensure early escalation.
- Facilitate risk workshops, assessments, and deep dives to support risk identification and mitigation planning.
- Oversee risk burndown plans, monitoring progress of mitigations and ensuring actions are implemented effectively.
- Produce clear, insightful risk reporting and analysis for programme leadership and customer stakeholders.
- Maintain and continually improve the Programme’s risk management framework, tools, and standards.
- Support integration of risk management with schedule, change, and dependency management processes.
What does Leidos need from me?
- Strong experience in risk management within complex programmes, ideally within a Systems Integrator environment.
- Excellent understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques.
- Proven ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups, including customer counterparts, to build a shared view of risk.
- Skilled facilitator, comfortable leading risk workshops and challenging assumptions constructively.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to present risk insights clearly to senior audiences.
- Familiarity with PMO and programme governance frameworks.
- Proficient in risk management tools and standard project management applications.
