Chief Operations Officer – 14 Month FTC
Programme: LCST (Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation)
Location: Bristol
The Role:
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the Logistics Commodities and Services Transformation (LCST) programme is the principal Director responsible to the Programme Director to lead the execution of strategies developed by the top management team. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, implementing, managing, and optimising all procedural and operational aspects of the LCST Programme with a singular focus of realising the Programme Director’s vision for achieving programme excellence.
You will be responsible for ensuring that essential business building blocks such as operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems are put in place consistently and effectively to achieve desired results from both contractual and corporate perspectives. You will seamlessly guide the programme from the final stages of its transition staging to full service delivery, fulfilling the contractual commitments and any approved amendments as laid out since SCD.
Role Overview:
- Responsible for ensuring that the implemented processes and tools support the programme’s contractual goals and objectives. Ensure proper measures whilst also reinforcing the desired culture.
- Act as the Supply Chain Integration (SCI) Director with Line Management responsibilities to Current and Future Military Operation’s Planning Cell, Operations Support (includes Customer Support Desk, Contingent Operational Stocks Planning, Forms & Pubs, and Process & Investigations sections), Management Information, and Programme Support Services (including Security, Quality, Risks, Issues & Opportunities, Configuration Management, and Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery).
- Be a principal member of the LCST programme Senior Leadership Team and, when required, deputise for the Programme Director.
Key Result Areas:
- Meet Team Leidos FoE plans for areas of responsibility.
- Successfully manage the Operations teams during the final phase of transition and return LCST to Green status.
- Lead the evolution of the LCST Operating Model to align with new commodity growth as a plank of the UK growth model.
- Support UK-level Cultural Change Programme and champion new culture across Leidos Europe, Leidos Supply and, where relevant, Commodity Support Services and SD&F by passionately leading and inspiring the team and demonstrating that Leidos is an employer of choice and a place that values talent.
- Communicate the importance of the LCST and LCST(X) programmes to the customer to regain positive wider support across the customer community. Reposition, and restructure if appropriate, all Operational functions for positive delivery and CRM. Get the best from the Team, both on LCST and in positioning for new business.
- Encourage the team to invest in personal development inside and outside Leidos and for Leidos employees, engage fully with Leidos UK opportunities for personal growth.
- Develop closer strategic and day-to-day relationships with relevant CMO, LDOC & DE&S teams in relation to LCST and LCSTX and accelerate the transfer programme.
- Support the increase in Customer understanding of LCST and increase existing and potential new customers’ awareness of Logistics capabilities (particularly focused on LCST(X).
- Lead the evolution of the LCST Operating Model to align with new commodity growth as a plank of the UK growth model.
- Support, as an SME, the LCST/Logistics opportunities to increase the reputation of Leidos UK.
- Deliver the LCST Programme in line with contractual safety framework and include safety moment in eSLT.
- Reflect current agreed strategic goals/Director-Level objectives.
