We are seeking an Agile Change (SAFe) Network Engineer to modernise our network infrastructure using Lean‑Agile methodologies. You will design, build, and maintain scalable network systems within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to deliver continuous network value, automate deployments, and align infrastructure with evolving business needs within a secure customer environment. This is a 4‑5 days per week, on‑site role, requiring a DV and open to UK nationals only.

  • Agile & SAFe Alignment
    • Participate in PI Planning: Actively engage in Program Increment (PI) planning events to estimate, track, and commit to network‑related features and stories.
    • Support Sprint Ceremonies: Attend daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, and system demos.
    • Manage Network Backlog: Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritise technical debt, network enablers, and infrastructure upgrades.
    • Enable Continuous Delivery: Apply SAFe principles to build a Continuous Delivery Pipeline for network infrastructure.
  • Network Engineering & Automation
    • Design & Implement Systems: Core network architecture development including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Cloud environments.
    • Network Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop automation scripts using Ansible, Terraform, or Python to automate routing, switching, and firewall deployments.
    • Maintain Network Security: Implement robust security policies, access controls, and encryption standards across all environments.
    • Optimize Performance: Monitor network health, troubleshoot complex infrastructure bottlenecks, and resolve system anomalies.
  • Collaboration & Governance
    • Cross‑Functional Support: Partner with DevOps, Software Engineering, and Security teams to integrate network requirements into the CI/CD pipeline.
    • Document Network Architecture: Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation of network topologies, enabler stories, and standard operating procedures.
    • Mentor Team Members: Share Agile engineering practices and network automation knowledge with junior peers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical Requirements
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Network Engineering: 4+ years of experience with enterprise routing, switching, firewalls (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto).
    • Network Automation: Proven experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, or Git workflow processes.
    • Certifications (Preferred): CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP.
  • Agile & Framework Requirements
    • SAFe Experience: 2+ years working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
    • Agile Tooling: Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile project management software.
    • Certifications (Preferred): Certified SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe DevOps, or SAFe Practitioner (SP).
  • Soft Skills
    • Communication: Ability to explain complex technical network infrastructure concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
    • Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical mindset to quickly unblock network dependencies within a fast‑paced sprint environment.
    • Adaptability: Eagerness to embrace shifting priorities and continuous learning in a DevOps‑focused landscape.
