This is an opportunity to deliver critical services and infrastructure key to UK Air Traffic Management. The role will mainly be on site at Whiteley, with remote work once the system is understood.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to support the development of an ATM system. On-the-job training will be provided if necessary.

Responsibilities

Work in a rapidly changing environment, delivering high‐quality software to a wide range of difficult problems.

Part of a team performing all software development activities throughout the development life cycle.

Understand and apply software engineering standards, principles and best practices.

Enhance delivery of technical solutions to our customer through sound technical knowledge.

Required Skills

Experience developing software in C or C++/Ada95, knowledge of using APIs.

Experience developing on Real Time Operating System (RTOS) such as Linux.

Enthusiastic self‐starter with strong verbal communication.

Excellent written communication through email, presentations and reports.

Comprehensive understanding of various software development methodologies.

Knowledge of configuration management in a software engineering environment (e.g., Subversion, Git).

Desired Skills

Experience developing software in Java.

Knowledge of infrastructure as code and container technologies (e.g., Puppet, Docker).

Experience with Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).

Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python).

Experience with systems/software design tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Cameo Systems Modeller).

Pay Range£61,500.00 – £78,800.00
