About Leidos

At Leidos, we deliver innovative technology and solutions that help safeguard critical capabilities and transform frontline services. Our work in the UK spans Air Traffic Management, Public Services, Defence, Healthcare, Government, Safety, and Security, helping tackle some of the country's most complex challenges.

The Opportunity

We are looking for Systems Engineers to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large-scale programme delivering critical infrastructure and services that will support the future of UK Air Traffic Management.

You will work collaboratively with operational users, stakeholders, architects, customers, and suppliers to define and deliver systems engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle. A significant part of the role will involve developing both text-based and model-based requirements, architecture, and design artefacts.

While the role can be performed largely remotely, regular travel to our Whiteley office (near Portsmouth) will be required.

You will support the delivery of systems engineering activities across complex system integration programmes, with a particular focus on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver systems engineering activities across complex programmes and projects.

  • Work with stakeholders, suppliers, and architects to define and manage system requirements.

  • Develop requirements, models, designs, and architecture artefacts using MBSE approaches and tools such as DOORS.

  • Support solution design, compliance activities, technical reviews, and project milestones.

  • Produce engineering documentation including designs, analyses, compliance reports, and security, safety, and service-related artefacts.

  • Conduct technical assessments, trade studies, and feasibility evaluations to support solution development.

  • Contribute to the delivery of integrated solutions using COTS and bespoke technologies.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds and experiences. If you meet some of the criteria below, we'd still love to hear from you.

  • Experience with systems engineering in complex or mission-critical environments.

  • Knowledge of architecture modelling tools, frameworks, and languages such as SysML, TOGAF, MODAF, ArchiMate, or similar.

  • Experience developing requirements, system models, interfaces, and design artefacts using text-based and model-based approaches.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience evaluating solutions through trade studies, feasibility assessments, or technical analysis.

  • Understanding of service-oriented, virtualised, or cloud-based architectures.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences.
