What you will bring:

  • You will combine strong writing and editorial skills with the confidence to engage technical specialists and stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience developing bid or proposal content through drafting and structured review.
  • The ability to translate complex information into concise, persuasive, evaluator-focused responses, supported by strong editorial judgement and attention to compliance, accuracy and evidence.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and sensitive information with sound judgement.
  • A writing-related qualification or equivalent professional writing experience is desirable but not essential.

What you will do:

  • Own assigned responses and content workstreams from requirement analysis and storyboarding through drafting, review and final editorial assurance, ensuring clarity, technical accuracy, compliance and alignment with the agreed bid strategy.
  • Analyse procurement documents, customer questions, instructions and evaluation criteria, translating requirements into logical response structures and maintaining compliance and gap controls.
  • Plan content using storyboards, response templates, content plans and Walls of Truth to control requirements, evidence and messaging.
  • Facilitate SME interviews and workshops to establish the proposed approach, rationale, evidence, differentiators and measurable customer benefits.
  • Draft PQQ and tender responses from workshop outputs, SME input and technical source material, restructuring contributions to improve clarity, logic and persuasion.
  • Ensure each response explains what we will deliver, how and why the approach is credible, and the customer benefits, with technical accuracy validated by SMEs.
  • Review content from an evaluator's perspective, addressing evidence and rationale gaps while embedding agreed win themes, discriminators, customer priorities and value propositions.
  • Research and tailor case studies, proof points, model answers and corporate credentials using the Proposal Information Centre (PIC) and approved programme information.
  • Support storyboard, Pink, Red, Grey and final white-glove reviews, helping to prioritise and resolve feedback.
  • Complete final editorial assurance, checking grammar, terminology, consistency, cross-references, formatting, attachments and page, word or character limits.
  • Work with SMEs and production colleagues to identify where graphics, tables and callouts will communicate complex information more effectively and prepare clear briefs for their development.
  • Build productive relationships across pursuit and delivery teams, partners, reviewers and production colleagues, communicating actions, deadlines, dependencies and quality concerns clearly.
  • Develop reusable bid content, coach SMEs and developing writers, and champion best practice by sharing learning and improving templates, reviews, content libraries and writing standards.

Development opportunities:

  • Working with experienced bid professionals and technical specialists.
  • Training and practical development in proposal best practice, content planning, storyboarding and structured reviews.
  • Support for APMP membership and certification.
  • Longer-term career pathways in proposal content or bid management.
