We are currently recruiting a Software Engineer to join our Air Traffic Management (ATM) portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to work on safety critical Air Traffic Control systems, supporting customers who rely on highly reliable, real time software. You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing across the full software lifecycle - from problem analysis and design through to delivery and operational deployment. The role offers variety, exposure to multiple applications, and the chance to work in a highly regulated, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and resolving software and system issues
  • Developing and maintaining software requirements and designs
  • Designing, building, and updating software solutions
  • Supporting change, release, and configuration management activities
  • Creating and executing software test plans
  • Ensuring all work follows defined engineering processes and software assurance standards
  • Working closely with Systems Engineering, Test teams, and project stakeholders

You will have a strong software engineering background, ideally within a real-time or safety critical environment, and be comfortable working to defined standards and processes.

Essential skills and experience

  • Experience developing real-time and/or safety-related software
  • Knowledge of software development languages such as C, C++ or TAL
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TACL
  • Experience across software development, integration, and test
  • Understanding of configuration management in a software engineering environment
  • Ability to work across the full project lifecycle, from early phase through to delivery
  • Strong problem-solving skills with clear technical judgement
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, managers, and other stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
