We are recruiting an Infrastructure & Logistics Engineer (ILE) to work within a Mission Critical Systems and Systems Integration environment. You will support, maintain, and improve infrastructure and lab environments, working as part of a technical team while also taking ownership of tasks and technical solutions. The role involves hands on technical work, supporting users and systems that underpin critical operations. You will be comfortable working on multiple tasks at the same time and flexible when required to meet project milestones.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain lab and infrastructure environments
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, and networks
- Provide hands on technical support, fault finding, and issue resolution
- Manage system setup, backups, and asset management
- Support customer sites with system installations and repairs
- Work closely with engineers, users, and team leads to deliver project objectives
- Assist with project planning, reporting, and progress updates
- Carry out testing of systems and network designs
- Develop an understanding of Air Traffic Control systems and how they operate
Qualifications
- Experience in infrastructure, lab support, or systems engineering environments
- Strong technical and analytical problem solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisation, time management, and reliability
- Customer focused with flexibility to support project needs
- Confident general IT skills across common software tools
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience installing and supporting hardware and software in lab environments
- Experience with Linux (Red Hat) and/or AIX (v5.2+)
- Experience with Windows Server administration and backups
- Basic networking experience (e.g. Cisco or HP equipment)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP and DNS
- Experience working in mission critical or safety related environments
