Responsibilities
- Lead the bi‑annual compilation of the long‑term forecast of expenditure (FE) (Services and Commodities), assimilating and validating inputs from internal functions and subcontractors; covering £500m annual spend.
- Negotiate budget setting with the Authority for the forthcoming year based on FE and Authority spending constraints.
- Lead the forecast and reporting of financial benefit associated with the FE across all spend types.
- Lead the Benefit Share claim process including negotiation with the Authority within timescale expectations of both the Authority and Team Leidos partners.
- Promote financial benefit enhancement and protection across GRMS, Storage, Distribution, Freight and Commodity purchase areas; as well as staff cost, operating cost and estate cost.
- Oversee the delivery and measurement of benefit projects from launch to completion.
- Lead change proposal costing, pricing and approval.
- Oversee monthly commodity spend reporting and its impact on financial benefit in the year.
- Provide financial and analytic support to LCST leadership with ad hoc special projects.
- Appropriately delegate tasks associated with the above responsibilities to two direct reports and to a wider team of 9 in total.
- Manage and support the development of a team of 9, ensuring a high‑performance mindset throughout the team.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience with financial modelling using Excel.
- Experience with data analysis with large data sets.
- Experience working within an operations‑facing finance team, acting as a Finance Business Partner to key Operational Managers and Executives.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Organised and thorough, with attention to detail.
- Team player but able to work independently and proactively.
- Good time management with the ability to achieve deadlines.
- Capable of operating to tight schedules in a demanding environment.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- IT proficient (MS Office).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SQL querying.
- Experience with tools similar to COBRA or Primavera.
- Experience with Power BI (or similar).
Professional Background
- Qualified with a professional body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Background in Mathematics, Modelling, Economics, Science, Business or Finance.
Clearance
- BPSS pre‑screening required to start Leidos UK.
