Overview

Volunteer Cadet Leaders Wanted – Join Leicestershire Police’s Cadet Programme! Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Leicestershire Police is looking for dedicated Volunteer Cadet Leaders to support our thriving Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) Scheme.

Since its launch in 2015, the VPC programme has grown significantly, now supporting nearly 120 cadets across four active units in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. Our Volunteer Cadet Leaders play a vital role in guiding and mentoring these young people.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and supervise cadets during their activities and deployments
  • Help build confidence, discipline, and community spirit among young people
  • Be a positive role model and part of a supportive team

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication skills
  • A team-oriented mindset
  • To be aged 18 or over

No prior experience is necessary – we’ll provide you with tailored training, ongoing support, and guidance from our Force VPC Lead Coordinator.

As a Police Support Volunteer, you’ll be giving back to your community in a meaningful way. You’ll help bridge the gap between policing and the public, all while gaining valuable experience and making a real impact.

Cadet Unit Details

Our cadet units meet weekly for two hours, typically from 6pm to 8pm. You’ll be able to indicate your preferred location when applying:

  • Central Cadets – Orchard Mead Academy, Keyham Lane West, Leicester, LE5 1RT – Tuesdays, 18:00–20:00
  • Kibworth – Kibworth Mead, Smeeton Road, Kibworth, Leicester, LE8 0LG – Mondays, 18:00–20:00
  • North Leicester – Woodbrook Vale School, Grasmere Road, Loughborough, LE11 2ST – Mondays, 18:00–20:00
  • Hinckley – Hinckley College, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley – Wednesdays, 18:00–20:00
