We are expanding our Neurodevelopmental offer for children and young people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and are growing our team to improve experiences for CYP and families. This full-time (37.5 hours, Monday-Friday) role requires a full UK driving licence and access to a car. The post supports the Neurodevelopment (ND) Improvement Programme, which aims to improve outcomes for CYP with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The programme focuses on understanding current resources, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing new delivery, workforce and financial models.

The role requires delivering high-quality care, working creatively and at pace, and keeping CYP and families at the centre of decision-making. Job Description Summary
- Provide assessment and diagnosis of Autism for children and young people with and without SLCN difficulties.
- Produce reports regarding children and young people's needs, recommendations and appropriate signposting reflecting specialist knowledge.
- Use a range of communication strategies, e.g. verbal, non-verbal, assisted (e.g. via signing and/or communication aids), to ensure that, wherever possible, children and young people, carers and others understand the outcome of assessment and are involved in the assessment.
- Obtain informed consent and where this is not possible ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Provide effective caseload management for identified caseloads.
- Provide mentorship, advice and learning opportunities for other Speech and Language Therapy colleagues.
- Contribute to whole service improvements.
