The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Please note – We currently only have one vacancy for 37.5 hours per week at Band 6 for a fixed term or secondment for 8 months.

The CAMHS Young Peoples Team is a specialist mental health service for young people aged up to 18 years old.

We provide a service for young people who are adopted, living in care (looked after children) homeless, unaccompanied asylum seeking and those involved with youth justice services.

Within our team we provide comprehensive mental health assessment, treatment and diagnosis for those who present with a moderate to severe mental illness.

We welcome new members to our existing multi-disciplinary team (MDT) where we share clinical decision making and formulation for the young people and care networks we work with.

Our MDT consists of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Therapeutic Social Workers, Mental Health Practitioners, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Forensic Psychologist, Assistant Psychologists and our Administration Team.

We are hoping to attract a keen Mental Health Practitioner to join our team and enhance our offer to vulnerable children. We are looking for someone who has existing experience working with young people and who has exceptional skills around mental health assessment and care planning and around risk assessment and management.

Within the team we can offer support to further develop skills in therapeutic models of care.

Main duties of the job

  • To have a solid core knowledge of mental illness and associated risk.
  • To be responsible for their own clinical caseload and take lead professional role in assessing and guiding care, ensuring the right pathways of care are prescribed and the right clinicians are involved for delivering care.
  • To offer comprehensive assessment around mental ill health.
  • To offer comprehensive risk assessment, formulation and management.
  • To deliver mental health care to individuals who have a diagnosis of moderate to severe mental illness.
  • To form part of a wider MDTTo co-facilitate training packages to our partner agencies.
