Are you a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist or an experienced Speech Therapist looking for a new challenge? Do you want to work as part of a small but supportive multi-disciplinary team making a real difference to the lives of Autistic people? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We have the exciting opportunity for a Band 5 speech and language therapist to join our Specialist Autism Team. You will be working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as part of a wide-ranging MDT, supporting a huge variety of Autistic patients with communication difficulties. You will be working in homes and other community settings with carers, families and the individuals themselves to ensure that everyone is included in the planning and delivery of care.

Please note that a full UK Driving License and access to a car during working hours is required for this role.

You will find us a supportive team, with lots of supervision, CPD opportunities and the chance to develop special interests. We have fun too, with regular health and wellbeing activities that we would love you to be a part of. You will be supported to complete your RCSLT Newly Qualified Practitioner Competencies. Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)

  • Contribute to the delivery of Specialist Autism Team Post Diagnostic Pathway with access to professional advice and guidance.
  • Development of skills around workload management and clinical decision making.
  • Work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team and with other agencies.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training to others in relation to individual clients.
  • Contribute to supporting the work of assistants, volunteers and students as required when fully registered with RCSLT and HCPC.
  • Contribute to service development and audit projects with support from supervisor.
  • Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based practice and outcome measures.
