Job Overview
The Facilities Supervisor is a member of the LPT Estates and Facilities team. The postholder will support the Facilities Co-ordinator in delivering high-quality soft facilities services and will be responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of local site services and facilities on a day-to-day basis.
The postholder will assist in the day-to-day running of the multi-skilled Facilities Department, ensuring effective resource utilization. They will report to the Facilities Co-ordinator and will be responsible for ensuring all services comply with National Standards. Occasionally, they may deputise for the Facilities Co-ordinator.
The role involves ensuring services are delivered in a safe and appropriate environment for patients and visitors, and that staff can effectively deliver care. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, with good communication, organizational skills, and an analytical approach to problem-solving. They should promote a customer-focused service, develop new skills, and stay updated with technological advancements.
The role requires working various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties and Responsibilities)
- Source and order goods/services following best practices and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels, manage orders, resolve discrepancies, and maintain purchase records for invoice reconciliation.
- Produce and manage food and cleaning consumable orders to maintain adequate stock.
- Raise requisitions (using Saffron), receive goods, and inspect deliveries to match orders and invoices.
- Lead and guide Facilities staff, supervise multiple roles, and foster operational excellence and customer service.
- Ensure staff adhere to Trust colour coding to prevent cross-infection.
- Oversee meal preparation and regeneration at ward level, following Food Safety policies.
- Maintain equipment and materials, report defects, and ensure quick repair and availability.
- Implement deep cleaning procedures, including decontamination and cleaning tasks.
- Ensure cleaning of surfaces, floors, and beds aligns with service agreements.
