We are looking to appoint a part-time Administration Assistant to join our friendly administration team based at Prince Philip House, Leicester, LE1 2NZ. This will be a fixed-term post for 12 months due to future plans and restructuring within the department.

The team provides full clerical support to the Adult Speech and Language Therapists across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The role involves acting as the main contact for the Speech and Language Therapy Service, managing a professional telephone booking facility, and providing a helpline for the Service.

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), have a friendly and sensitive telephone manner, be approachable, and work well in a team. Excellent keyboard skills, recent data entry experience, and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines are essential. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing an effective and efficient telephone service (e.g., taking/passing messages, booking appointments)
  • Registering referrals
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post
  • Being the first point of contact for patients, carers, and professionals
  • Entering and collecting data from electronic systems
