An opportunity has arisen for a Premises Officer working in our busy Premises support team. This post would involve servicing buildings in the Wigston area of Leicestershire.

About The Role

You would be responsible for (among other duties) the unlocking and locking of Leicestershire County Council buildings in the Wigston area alongside undertaking minor repairs, health and safety checks, liaising with contractors and the general upkeep of the buildings. The successful applicant will work split shift i.e. part of the day in the morning and return in the evening. Working outside normal hours may also be required to deal with emergencies. An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have relevant experience of undertaking general DIY and maintenance work
  • Literacy skills to fill in diaries, claim forms and H&S records
  • Excellent communication skills to report issues and communicate with the team and organisational skills
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Ability to carry out heavy manual handling, to use own initiative and to work without constant supervision
  • Willingness to attend site at any time of the day or night to deal with emergencies
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle with business insurance for use to travel between sites when necessary
