Leicestershire County Council is seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Assessment (SENA) Team Manager to play a pivotal role within our high performing SEND service. This role will lead practice, support staff and drive high quality statutory delivery for families across Leicestershire. An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising SENA staff to deliver high quality assessments, plans and reviews.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory duties under the SEND Code of Practice.
- Driving performance management, quality assurance and continuous practice improvement.
- Working collaboratively with schools, early years settings, FE colleges, health, social care and other partners.
- Contributing to service development, policy implementation and thematic leadership.
- Supporting effective budget management and value for money decision making.
- Representing the service at SEND panels, multi‑agency forums and partnership meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Provide strong management oversight to Case Managers and Senior Case Managers, supporting the SENA Service Manager in the strategic and operational leadership of the service.
- Relevant BTEC Higher, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and substantial experience.
