An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Data and Performance Assistant to join the Assisted Transport Service. This is a key technical role supporting critical line of business systems, in a complex demand lead service, with an annual spend of £30m per year. The role involves the day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of business systems to ensure their effective operation. There is also a key focus on providing technical support to staff and supporting the introduction, embedding and monitoring of system related changes.
We are looking for someone who has excellent technical and data management skills, and is passionate about learning new technologies and applications to support the development of the Assisted Transport Service. You will assist in the monitoring, maintenance and development of critical line of business operating systems. This includes day to day system monitoring, running systems back up processes, monitoring, recording and escalating system issues. You will assist with systems updates and testing software releases, and provide hands on support to correct data when required.
You will assist the Team Leader to manage and embed system changes, including the development of training and guidance notes, and delivery of staff training sessions. You will monitor the successful delivery of new work practices, providing or arranging additional support to staff as required. The role also involves the development of technical reports and dashboards, to maintain and develop a suite of high-profile performance indicators for submission to key stakeholders, as well as co-ordination of performance information and related administration.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Hold an NVQ3 or equivalent qualification in an appropriate area, or have equivalent demonstrable experience in delivering system and technical support, supporting staff to adopt new practices due to system change, experience of interrogating and analysing complex and technical data and producing reports.
- Able to work under pressure, responding positively in difficult or urgent situations, prioritising competing demands through a highly organised approach.
- Have experience and skills in the successful interrogation and analysis of complex and technical data including: excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data, and strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
- Be able to build powerful relationships across all stakeholders, with excellent communication skills, and an ability to explain technical issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of business processes ideally gained within a Local Authority Assisted Transport Service.
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, Word), with commitment to continuous learning and development. This includes a willingness and ability to learn new technologies and applications, particularly in relation to dashboard development, e.g. Power BI.

You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
