About the Role

We are now delighted to offer vacancies within the following teams:

  • Mental Health Hospital Team (fixed term until 31/03/27, 37 hours per week)
  • Assertive Inreach (fixed term until 31/03/27, 37 hours per week)

The Mental Health Hospital Team supports the residents of Leicestershire and Rutland. Working alongside health partners, the team ensures patients receive a safe, person-centred and coordinated discharge.

The Assertive Inreach Team is a new service funded by Better Care. It assists hospital patients with mental health difficulties to maintain their finances during an in‑patient stay, link to community resources, and ensure readiness for discharge. Visits occur at Bradgate Hospital and other wards linked with the hospital around the county.

Levels and Salaries:

  • Newly Qualified Social Workers: £32,070 to £34,359 per annum
  • Level 2 Social Worker: £35,451 to £39,165 per annum
  • Level 3 Social Worker: £39,939 to £42,699 plus market supplement of £3,300 per annum

All teams are friendly and supportive, with regular supervision. Teams hold weekly group supervision meetings to promote best outcomes. We provide a comprehensive induction package and ongoing learning and development opportunities, including tailored professional development sessions and access to academic research and practice expertise.

About You

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Knowledge of social work methodologies, person-centred and asset-based approaches, and relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Experience of effective assessment and risk management delivery, multi‑agency/multidisciplinary working and/or hospital discharge processes.
  • Experience of partnership working with adults to identify and meet needs with creative and pragmatic solutions.
  • Confident communicator skilled in diplomacy, persuasion, assertiveness, and conflict management, able to build effective working relationships.
  • Proactive individual worker who can also work as a team member.
  • Good prioritisation and time management skills; valid UK driving licence or access to a vehicle.
