Responsibilities
- Personal care – showering daily (requires presence due to falls risk)
- Applying creams 2–4 times a day to the whole body
- Ensuring clean clothing is worn, especially during episodes of incontinence
- Laundry tasks as needed, including changing the bed sheets
- Meal planning and preparation (including batch cooking) to support a healthy, nutritional diet
- Weekly shopping
- Light domestic tasks
- Social support of 4 hours per week (visits to hairdressers and window shopping in local centres such as Beaumont Leys or Fosse Park)
Both Personal Assistants should provide continuous coverage, with the following schedule:
- Daily support – AM 1 hour, lunch 1 hour, tea 45 minutes, PM 45 minutes
- Shopping – 2 hours per week
- Social support – 4 hours per week
Requirements
- Female Personal Assistants are required for the provision of personal care support
- Ability to support a client with various health conditions
- Responsible, reliable, patient, friendly, and respectful of others’ privacy, dignity, values and beliefs
- Familiarity with assisting clients who are hard of hearing and able to walk only short distances
- Available to provide flexible hours as needed, with coverage for annual leave and sickness
