About the Role
We have an exciting role available where you will play a key part in maintaining and improving the commercial and corporate property portfolio. Working under the direction of a Mechanical Team Leader, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of gas, mechanical, and plumbing-related maintenance and repair work in line with assigned work orders.

- Carry out gas maintenance and mechanical repair works as specified in work orders.
- Undertake gas installation and maintenance tasks within your designated area, ensuring all work aligns with current Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Use mobile devices to complete reports, certifications, order materials, and request follow-up work.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Gas Installation and Use Regulations 1998 and the latest Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure.
- Manage van stock of materials and ensure vehicle maintenance, including cleaning and fuel level checks.
- Follow safe working practices, comply with the Council’s Health & Safety policy, and ensure all PPE and tools are maintained and used appropriately.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- COCN1 CCN1 Core Gas Safety certification.
- TPCP1 TPCP1A CORT1 CIGA1 CPA1 and Unvented Hot Water.
- Practical experience in gas and mechanical service installations and repairs, strong awareness of health and safety regulations, excellent customer care and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering a high-quality service.
- Ability to use electronic devices for reporting and work management, literate and numerate, with the ability to complete accurate documentation.
This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
