Responsibilities

You will support patients during night shifts, assist with personal care, promote independence, manage crises, and keep clear, concise records. You will also help deliver accessible and inclusive services that meet the needs of all residents.

About You – Requirements

  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality care and support which maximises independence, is anti‑discriminatory, and adheres to relevant regulations and procedures (such as Adult Safeguarding and Valuing People Now).
  • The ability to use available equipment to assist with moving and handling service users and to support people with complex needs and be willing to train in Moving and Handling and other mandatory courses.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to engage with service users who may use alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, picture boards, signs).
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, responding effectively to crisis situations.
  • IT and written skills sufficient to write and maintain clear, concise records. Willing to train to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (training provided).
  • Be responsive to meet the changing needs of a 24/7 service, including being able to work flexibly and participate in a staff rota that incorporates weekends and bank holidays, and be willing to attend meetings or training outside of normal working hours.

Flexible Working

We are open to discussions about flexible working options, which may include part‑time, job sharing, term‑time, flexible start and finish times, and hybrid working, depending on the role requirements.

Benefits

  • Salary: £25,191 – £25,590 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus an enhancement for working nights (Pay Award Pending).
  • Working Hours: 1 × 20 hours per week (must be able to work flexibly and participate in a staff rota that incorporates weekends and bank holidays between 21:00 and 07:00).
  • Contract Type: Permanent.
  • Closing Date: 28th June 2026.
  • Interview Date(s): 14th July 2026.

Please note: This role is open to FEMALE applicants only.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for new visa sponsorship applications; therefore you must already have the right to work in the UK in order to apply.
