Work Location: Melton Short Breaks & Supported Living Services, Victor Avenue, Melton Mowbray, LE13 0GG
Salary: Grade6 £25,995 – £26,409 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
Working Hours: 1 x 30 hours post per week (average of 6-8 hours per shift). Must be able to work flexibly and participate in a staff rota that incorporates working weekends and bank holidays between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
Contract Type: Fixed term (6 months)

About the Role
We are looking for 1 support worker (1x 30 hours post) on a fixed term basis for 6 months to join our team at Melton Short Breaks & Supported Living Services. The centre provides respite and supported living care for adults with learning disability, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. You will provide person‑centred care, assist with personal care, promote choice and control, and maximise independence. Training and mentorship will be provided.

Requirements:
- Commitment to high quality care and support that maximises independence, is anti‑discriminatory, and adheres to relevant regulations such as Adult Safeguarding and Valuing People Now.
- Ability to use available equipment for moving and handling, and willingness to attend training courses.
- Effective communication skills, including engagement with service users who may use alternative communication methods (Makaton, picture boards, signs).
- Good organisational skills to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, responding effectively to crisis situations.
- IT and written skills sufficient to write and maintain clear, concise records.
- Responsiveness to the changing needs of a 24/7 service; willingness to work flexibly on weekends and bank holidays, and attend meetings or training outside normal working hours.
