An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and committed Education Effectiveness Partner to join the team in a continued development strategy working with schools on joint strategies for inclusion, use of alternative provision and promoting positive outcomes for Leicestershire's most vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and develop practice that promotes inclusive strategies in schools, central services and other educational settings (e.g., Further Education Colleges).
  • Provide advice and support to schools to inform practice that promotes the prevention of, and tackles the leading causes for, suspensions, permanent exclusions and long-term absenteeism.
  • Manage national and local initiatives to improve teaching and learning outcomes for all children and young people.
  • Gather, interpret, and apply performance data to identify areas of high or underperformance.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated through experience of successful management of significant programmes or projects which include the planning, managing, and delivering of transformation strategies and influencing partners to deliver within a programme framework.
  • Have an awareness of local authority statutory duties and national/local initiatives and can demonstrate they can adapt their Qualified Teacher Status and knowledge of the 5-16 education sectors and performance management systems to support the requirements on both the local authority and state-funded schools.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deliver complex information to non-specialist staff.

The Education Effectiveness Partner will play an integral role, as part of the Education Effectiveness Team, to successfully implement national and local initiatives to promote and embed school improvement strategies within educational settings where Leicestershire children are educated; to secure the best start in life for all our children, particularly the most vulnerable.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status with DfE number and extensive experience of working with schools, including evaluating and developing whole-school practice, with sound understanding of the issues facing schools and how schools operate.
  • Have recent, successful management of significant programmes or projects and can demonstrate experience of strategic thinking at a senior level.
  • Have experience of developing and maintaining initiatives, and quality assuring their effectiveness.
  • Be able to work independently and with initiative.
  • Be able to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact.
  • Have some understanding of the legislative, regulatory and statutory duties in Education relating to the right of children and young people to access a good quality education.
  • Have effective communication skills, be well-motivated and flexible, have a professional manner and plenty of common sense.
