As a Library Services Assistant, you will work as part of a team responsible for providing a high-quality, welcoming, and efficient library service to all customers. You will support library users to find the information and resources they need, assist them in using IT systems, shelve and display books and other materials, and deliver library events such as IT tasters and sessions for under 5\’s. You will also be required to promote customer choice and enjoyment in reading, as well as the service\’s digital offerings, including e-books and online reference resources.

Ideal Candidate

  • Have experience of, and an interest in, digital technology, including an ECDL or ITQ level 2 qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deliver events, activities, and taster sessions.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills to undertake the duties of the role.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Have good time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
