An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technician to become part of our dynamic Engineering Services team. As a key member of our forward‑thinking team, you’ll work alongside motivated and supportive professionals who are passionate about delivering high‑quality highway maintenance schemes such as carriageway and footway resurfacing, vehicle restraint upgrades, and innovative highway improvements.

About the Role

In this role, you will support Engineers in the design and delivery of multiple highway maintenance schemes, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. You’ll also gain hands‑on experience through regular site visits across Leicestershire.

About You

To apply for this post, you must demonstrate how you meet the following criteria:

  • BTEC Higher / NVQ Level 4 in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification, with evidence of continued learning and development.
  • Working experience in an engineering setting, related to design, management, maintenance or construction processes.
  • Team experience on civil engineering or highway maintenance projects.
  • Experience undertaking measurements of work, checking submitted accounts and monitoring budgets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, liaising with members of the public and stakeholders, and producing materials for meetings or presentations.
  • Good knowledge of current highway design standards, construction techniques, and maintenance standards, including CDM 2015 duty‑holder responsibilities.
  • Competent IT skills, including use of CAD software and ability to learn service‑specific systems and software.
