About the Role
Based at ESPO’s Grove Park facility in Leicester, this role is an integral part of the ESPO IT Department’s Application Support Team, providing technical support and development activities relating primarily to systems and integrations. The role focuses on the systems and connections that surround our core System21 ERP platform and Indigo WMS, which runs on IBMi. Hands‑on experience with these platforms is not essential, but a solid background in how systems integrate and communicate is key. Experience in VB.net, RPG Development, PunchOut, e-commerce platforms, middleware, or EDI would be an advantage.
- Specialises in system integrations, with a particular focus on the technical connections between the corporate e-commerce website and the ERP.
- Works within a team responsible for development, maintenance, and support of ESPO’s core business applications, including ERP, WMS, and a mix of bespoke and off‑the‑shelf software.
- Supports the delivery of integrations between customer procurement systems, third parties, the ESPO website, and the ERP, including PunchOut connections.
- Participates in IT and business‑led projects, contributing to technical solution design and development.
- Assists with BAU support and administration covering business applications, the ERP, associated databases, and related processes.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the confidence to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the business.
About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- A degree or achieved proficiency in SFIA skills at level 4, or demonstrable experience of assisting in developing, designing and delivering an effective application support service appropriate to the above qualification level.
- Substantial experience in applications or integrations support within a complex IT environment.
- Proven substantial experience of developing, designing and delivering a quality information and/or technology support service, operating at a senior level in accordance with the strategic business need of the organisation and external partners.
- Demonstrable experience with system integrations, middleware, or e‑commerce platforms, and an understanding of how data flows between connected systems.
- Experience supporting ERP, WMS, or other business‑critical applications in a BAU capacity.
- Ability to analyse problems and to interpret business requirements into fully costed technical business proposals.
- Ability to contribute to technical solution design and participate in IT or business‑led projects.
- Collaboration on complex and multiple information and/or technology projects with senior stakeholder engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
