About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in Blaby, Oadby and Wigston Locality, as a Keyworker. We work alongside other agencies such as health, schools, social care and community organisations to support children and their families. You will undertake assessments to provide intensive support and deliver agreed child in need plans of support within the home. Come and join our team and help improve outcomes for our Children and their Families. An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, e.g., social care, health or childcare, OR substantial experience in providing direct support to families that clearly demonstrates a broad level of experience, skills, competencies, and knowledge.
- Have experience of providing direct support in the home to children and families with complex needs which may include mental health, substance misuse, offending, domestic abuse, and/or educational issues.
- Have experience of carrying out assessments, support planning, formulating action plans and reporting outcomes.
- Have experience of working with partners and of co‑ordinating agency responses in complex cases to achieve positive outcomes for families with complex needs.
- Have an understanding of the impact of discrimination on the lives of those from minority ethnic communities and others that experience social exclusion, and an ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Have awareness and understanding of good enough parenting and the relationship between poverty and social deprivation, while prioritising the protection of children.
- Be able to recognise cumulative harm and risk indicators of different forms of harm - sexual, physical, emotional and neglect.
- Build professional confidence and resilience, establish good working relationships with families, and overcome barriers to engagement.
- Communicate sensitively and effectively with children and adults, focusing on hearing and capturing the child's voice.
