About the Role

As the Homelink Advisor, your responsibilities will include verifying the eligibility of applicants for the housing register, ensuring they are placed within appropriate priority bands according to the allocation policy, and providing quality customer advice on a range of housing options.

You will also prepare the weekly advertisement for all available properties, apply the correct eligibility criteria, and maintain effective liaison and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in a housing environment and a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to make accurate and timely decisions, often under pressure, with tact, sensitivity, and courtesy, especially regarding qualification and eligibility of applicants for social housing.
  • A firm but fair approach to managing customer relationships while maintaining professionalism. Experience in conducting assessments to determine qualification and eligibility for social housing.
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload to ensure timely task completion.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Housing Management or a willingness to work towards this qualification. Alternatively, a part qualification of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
